In the last century, there has been a massive increase in industrialization. The world population also exploded to feed that population; the industrialization was the only way to cater the needs of the human. But with this industrialization, there is a problem comes of waste that these factories release into the environment. In past, when plumbing was not well established, hazardous waste was a serious problem. The manufacturing units need to control the release of this waste to the external environment, for that the slurry valve was invented. The slurry waste has changed the manufacturing process completely, provides a bit of liberty to manufacturing units to handle their waste inefficient way.  Other types of valves are in popular use like a butterfly valve, knife gate valve or gate valve. But as the name suggest the slurry valve, is especially to cater to the slurry. Improper leakage of the slurry in the manufacturing unit can destroy the contamination of the process and the product. The importance of the right valve for slurry because the knife gate valve or other types of valves, may not be able to perform the function and resulting in damage. Because different industries have different type of wastage, for instance in the case of chemical industries, the waste can be composed of acids or other strong chemicals. When it comes to choosing a slurry valve, always keep following points to get the right slurry valve.

Replaceable Seats: Most of the slurry valve is the seats. The seats have a critical role in protecting metal components in the valve and provide a good seal, to avoid any leak. The seats must be replaceable because, with time, the abrasive liquids can wear off the seats. That can result in leakage. The replaceable seats can help to reduce downtime and reduces maintenance cost.

Durable Materials: The slurries are highly abrasive. This means the slurry valve must be made of durable materials. The materials with high resistance traits must be used when selecting the slurry valve, otherwise, the valve will not be able to withstand the abrasive slurries for long. Replacing the valve after the frequent interval is a hassle and may also hinder the manufacturing process.

Pressure and Temperature Rating: In every industry, the slurry will have a different composition. Even in a single manufacturing plant, there can be multiple types of slurry, so it means the slurry valve installed must have a wide range of pressure and temperature rating. Usually, the slurries are slow-moving liquids, the pressure rating is critical for the slurry valve, because if the slurry valve will not have a wide range of pressure, then it will not be able to prevent the unwanted leakage of the slurry.
